Authorities have confirmed that a 31-year-old Spalding County man has the immediate area’s first case of swine flu. Cases of swine flu, also known as H1N1, have abated in recent weeks since the original outbreak. Authorities say caution – not panic – is in order. ”I want to stress that there is no need for panic, locally or otherwise. We are further evaluating and responding to the situation and will continue to do so,” said Dr. Michael Brackett, DHR’s District 4 public health medical director.
