Southern Rivers Energy is committed to the communities it serves and offers many valuable programs dedicated to improving quality of life in our community. Operation Round Up is funded by Southern Rivers Energy members and is designed to provide financial assistance to charitable organizations. The Southern Crescent Area Agency on Aging, a Division of the Three Rivers Regional Commission, assisted Lamar County and the Senior Center through the Operation Round Up Grant application process and presented information before the Southern Rivers Energy Trust Board for consideration. On September 12, 2013, the Southern Rivers Energy Foundation notified the Lamar County Senior Center of intent to extend a grant award of $10,000 for the expansion of their home delivered meal program. This grant will provide meals for 15 homebound seniors in Lamar County for a year serving a projected 1,370 meals. The Lamar County Senior Center would like to express sincere gratitude to Southern Rivers Energy and its membership for this opportunity to serve Lamar’s isolated elderly population that are most in need.
