Stabbing suspect captured

A 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault for allegedly stabbing another man. The full release from Capt. Tony Ranieri of the Spalding County S.O. follows: On January 12, 2012 Deputies were dispatched to 649 Mailier Road Griffin, Georgia in reference to a person stabbed involved in a domestic dispute. When officers arrived on the scene the victim was being treated by Emergency Medical Personnel and deputies learned that the suspect had fled into the wooded area near the residence. According to Sheriff Wendell Beam K-9 units from Meriwether County and from Special Operations responded to the area. Deputies from the Patrol Division and Warrant Division set up a perimeter near the location and the suspect identified as Timothy James Lewis 22 years old of 649 Malier Road Griffin, Georgia was arrested. The victim who was Life Flighted to an Atlanta Hospital was listed in satisfactory condition. Lewis has been charged with Aggravated Assault and is being held in the Spalding County Detention Center.
