By Clay Cordle, Gordon State CollegeYou never know who you might find at a Gordon State College Highlanders baseball game. On Saturday, as the Highlanders hosted South Georgia College, freshman infielder Jordan Dwyer had a special guest in the stands, his older brother and Pittsburgh Steeler running back, Jonathan Dwyer. Also joining the elder Dwyer were his wife, Kayla and their 1-month-old son, Jonathan Jr. To make the day more interesting, Dwyer was being followed by a Steelers crew filming a documentary. Jonathan said he enjoyed the game, especially watching his little brother play.’He is a good player and he has been pretty consistent this year,’ Dwyer said.’¨ ‘¨Jordan enjoyed having his bother in the stands but sees Jonathan more like a big bother and less like an NFL great.’It’s a great experience and some put high expectations on me, but I try to put them aside and not get a big head,’ Jordan said. ‘We were raised to be humble and do our best at anything we do.’ Saturday’s double header started out with Dwyer making a difference and helping to win the game. In Friday’s game the teams were tied in the bottom of the ninth until Dwyer lead off with a double before fellow freshman infielder Logan Conley belted a single to right field for the win.’¨ The Highlanders took three of the four games from SGC and sit in 3rd place in Region XVII.
