Stephens published in New Yorker

Barnesville native Josh Stephens had a full page drawing in a recent New Yorker magazine illustrating a short story. For reprint permission, e-mail news@barnesville.com. *************** Stephens does cartoon art work and had an exhibit hosted by Lamar Arts at the Depot in July 2011. He is the son of Annette Jones, a longtime Post Office worker who now does a lot of volunteer work for Lamar Arts. His wife Mary delivered their new baby Augustus Ray Stephens Monday, Jan. 29. He earned a bachelor’s degree in fine arts, majoring in graphic design, at the University of Georgia. He spent the next year plying his trade in Northern Italy for an international communications research center named Fabrica before earning a master’s of fine arts at Cranbrook Academy of Art. He taught for a while at Cooper Union and Pratt Institute in New York and has work published in myriad magazines across the globe, art exhibited at home and abroad, and several self-published books.
