The Lamar County sheriff’s office has begun a new program targeted at young drivers. STOPPED (Sheriff’s Telling Our Parents and Promoting Educated Drivers) aims to alert parents of their children’s driving habits. With the STOPPED program parents will be notified any time their child is stopped by local agencies including the Barnesville and Milner police departments, Gordon College public safety and Lamar schools.
