My strawberries have not only come in but a few are starting to get ripe.Seeing their bright red coats wrapped in a shawl of greenery got me thinking about my absolute love for strawberry milkshakes.Understand though that I am not talking about the thick dip Hardees kind of shake. Nor am I talking about strawberry ice cream blended with ice. I am talking about a silky, smooth, fresh strawberry delight, topped with whole fat whipped cream.This recipe makes about 4 cups (or 2 solid shakes)INGREDIENTS* 1 lb strawberries, halved (3 cups) (the more, the berrier though!)* 1 pint vanilla ice cream* 1/2 cup milk* 2 tablespoons sugar, or to tastePREPARATIONPurÃ©e all ingredients in a blender with a pinch of salt until smooth. I use a KitchenAid blender and it works magic.
