Summer reading underway at library

The Barnesville-Lamar County Library is preparing to sign up children and teens for its annual summer reading program, this year called, ‘Dream Big: READ.’ Readers of all ages will explore the night during the summer reading club. Activities will include Magnificent Monday programs which will be held at 2 p.m. with storytellers, magicians, jugglers, musicians, clowns, a ventriloquist and snakes. The 2012 Summer Reading Club is open to young people, preschool through young adult, with programs and prizes. ’Families are encouraged to spend the summer at the library and experience the fun,’ said librarian Kelly Hughes. The summer reading club begins Tuesday, May 29, and will conclude Aug. 4. Children can register anytime. For information, call the library at 770-358-3270.The schedule for Magnifi cent Mondays include June 4, Magic Man Bill Packard; June 11, Fiddlin’ Dan the Mountain Man; June 18, storyteller Josie Bailey, June 25, ventriloquist Cliff Patton; July 9, Doodle the Clown; July 16, juggler Ron Anglin, July 23, magician Ken Scott and July 30, Snakes-R-Us with Jason Clark. There will be no program the week of July 2 due to the Independence Day holiday.
