Summer Sizzle at the Ritz this weekend features headliners A1A, the official Jimmy Buffett Tribute Band, with Loose Change from Thomaston as the opening band. With a weekend full of family fun events in Ritz Park in Barnesville, the event promises to help participants endure the heat with fun and entertainment. The Saturday July 16 concert admission is $10, with children 10 and under free. Gates open at 6 p.m. No coolers are permitted; remember to bring an ID and lawn chairs or blankets to sit on. On Friday night July 15, the chamber of commerce merchant committee will host the third and final Movies In The Park, ‘Surf’s Up,’ a sure way to pretend you’re at the beach. The feature is sponsored by the Lamar County fire department and sheriff’s office, providing concessions and activities also. The movie will begin at sundown.
