The Barnesville-Lamar County Chamber of Commerce will celebrate the 1980s with its annual Summer Sizzle at the Ritz Park, featuring local favorites Lady Creech and Girlz Girlz Girlz, an ‘˜80s hair band who not only sound but also look the part. The event is set for Saturday, July 21, at the park next to the Post Office in downtown Barnesville. The gates open at 6 p.m. with showtime around 7:30 p.m. Attendees are asked to bring their own chairs and blankets ‘“ and their ID’s instead of coolers, which are not allowed. Admission is $10 with children 10 and under admitted free. Presented by United Bank, sponsors include Upson Regional Medical Center, Southern Rivers Energy, Kitchen Drawer magazine, Landshark Lager and Bud Light.
