Sunny Grove Assisted Living in Barnesville is sponsoring a free health fair on Wednesday, May 23, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Barnesville Civic Center. A variety of health services and screenings will be offered. B-12 and MIC shots will be available for $5 and $15 fees (cash only) by Barnesville Urgent Care and Family Practice. Flexibility, balance and blood pressure testing; body mass index, cholesterol and pulmonary function screenings; cardiovascular services; and sleep apnea assessments will be done by Spalding Regional Medical Center. Foot examinations will come courtesy of Easy Walk Foot Clinic. Depoe Eye Center will do vision screenings and Audiological Hearing Services will provide ear examinations. Hospice providers with information on their services will include Brightmoor, Heartland and Thomaston hospices. Home health services information will be provided by Amedisys Home Health and Care South. Medicare assistance will be explained by Georgia Cares. Bone density screening will come from the Lamar County Health Department. Clayton Family Chiropractic Clinic will be on hand to describe its services. Rehabilitation services will be discussed by Sylvan Grove Rehab and Swing Bed. Community resources information will be provided by the Lamar Alzheimer Support Group, Georgia Relay and McIntosh Trail. Information on senior programs and activities at the Lamar County Senior Center will be provided. Diabetic resources and services and durable medical equipment will be discussed by Smith’s Pharmacy. Mental health assistance information will come from the Pathways Center. Women’s health topics will be discussed by Spalding Women’s Specialist. Medication consulting will be provided by Walgreens. Participants should bring their medications for review. A financial consultant from Edward Jones will also be on hand.
