Supreme court affirms McGuire life sentence

The Georgia Supreme Court has reviewed and affirmed the murder conviction and life sentence given David Lewis McGuire. McGuire was found guilty in 2018 of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and multiple firearms charges. The charges stemmed from the Sept. 15, 2016 shooting death of his mother Elaine Brown McGuire at her Liz Ares Road home here. Judge Bill Fears sentenced McGuire to life without parole plus five years, noting the convicted killer would die incarcerated. McGuire is serving his sentence at Hays State Prison.
