Suspect sought in Johnstonville Rd. armed robbery

Authorities are on the lookout for a black male who was involved in an armed robbery on Johnstonville Road. From Lawson Bittick, Monroe County S.O.: On 07/29/2015 at approximately 08:30 A.M., Monroe County deputies responded to a report of an armed robbery in progress at the Marathon Gas Station on Johnstonville Road in Monroe County, Georgia. Before responding deputies arrived on scene, the suspect, described as a black male in black clothing with a blue bandana covering his face, had already fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money. Investigators believe the suspect is likely responsible for similar armed robberies of convenience stores in Houston (Perry, Georgia), Bibb (Macon, Georgia), and possibly Peach (Ft. Valley, Georgia) Counties in Middle Georgia over the past few days. Anyone with possible information regarding these armed robberies is urged to call the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office at 478-994-7043 or any of the above-mentioned agencies.
