Tea Party at Ritz Park brings out hundreds

As the sun set on Barnesville on Labor Day, the temperature was the only thing getting cooler as some 300 people showed up at the Ritz Park ampitheatre to show their concern over recent political developments. Republicans and Democrats alike represented their concerns for health care reform, Cap and Trade, family values and fair tax. The event mixed of American values, Christian ethics and grassroots politico. Speakers included state insurance commissioner and Republican gubernatorial frontrunner John Oxendine, Ray McBerry, a states right advocate and also a gubernatorial candidate and BOE member Ryan Christopher. Former county commissioner Gene Hardwick was also on hand to meet and greet attendees as well as other local politicians including city manager Kenny Roberts and commissioner Jimmy Hearn.
