By Walter Geiger A 15-year-old girl died instantly Saturday after crashing an ATV at a farm on McCollum Road here. Daley Cochran was jumping terraces in a pecan orchard at the farm on an Arctic Cat ATV when she lost control and crashed at about 3:30 p.m. She died instantly of massive head and neck injuries, according to Lamar coroner Jim Smith. The victim was not wearing a helmet. Cochran was the daughter of Lisa Cochran of Rocky Branch Road and Billy Wade Chambliss, Smith reported. A passenger on the ATV, Amber Dunbar, 14, jumped clear before the crash and suffered only minor injuries. She was at home late Saturday night. Cochran was a student at Mary Persons High School. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Monroe County Memorial Chapel.
