Theft suspect arrested

According to Spalding County sheriff Wendell Beam, on Dec. 4 at 4 a.m. deputies located a suspicious person near the Crestview Baptist Church located on the North Expressway. When the deputies approached the suspicious person he fled on foot running toward the North Griffin Shopping Center. Later that morning deputies located the suspect at the old ReMax Building located on the North Expressway and took him into custody. The suspect was later identified as James V. Miller, 35 years old, 506 West Louise Lane, Griffin, Georgia. After further investigation it was learned that Miller was also the same suspect that had been wanted for numerous entering autos around the areas of LaPrade Road, Tallwood Road, Crestwood Road and other locations. Investigators have charged Miller with 10 counts of Entering Auto’s, 2 Counts of Criminal Trespassing and 1 count of Loitering and Prowling. Miller was also wanted for a Violation of Parole warrant issued from Augusta, Georgia for Burglary. Sheriff Beam would also like to thank everyone who provided information on this suspect that was generated from the Sheriff’s facebook page.
