Thelma Evelyn Delores Brooks Strickland

Mrs. Thelma Evelyn Delores Brooks Strickland, age 76, of Milner passed away Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015, in a Spalding Healthcare Facility. Mrs. Strickland was born in Spalding County to the late Mr. Calvin L. Brooks and the late Mrs. Martha Smith Brooks. She was a machine operator for the Carter’s Mill and a member of Rock Springs Church. Mrs. Strickland was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Albert R. Strickland and her sister, Marie Cavender. Survivors include her two sons, Van Strickland (and Cheryl) of Barnesville; Calvin Strickland (and Cindy) of Milner; a granddaughter, Layla Corley (and Ray) of Griffin; four grandsons, Ian Strickland (and Amy) of Griffin, Levi Strickland of Barnesville, Richard Strickland of Milner and Jeremiah Strickland; five great-grandchildren, Taylor Wall (and Sterlin), Cassidy Blackmon, Ava Claire Strickland, Hayden Strickland and Bradley Strickland; a great-great-grandchild, Miley Wall; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. A visitation for Mrs. Thelma Strickland was held Friday, Sept. 4 at Williams Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. All other services were private.
