Third victim in Monroe shooting dead

The third person shot in a Jan. 15 incident on Debra Drive in Monroe County has died. The news release from Monroe Co. S.O. public information officer Allison Selman-Willis follows: The third person injured in an incident in Monroe County that left two women dead on January 15, 2011 has died as a result of the gunshot wound he received. Walter Ronald Pruitt, 52, also of Debra Drive in Monroe County died today at the Medical Center of Central Georgia sometime this afternoon, January 18, 2011. Mr. Pruitt was the wife of Alayna Pruitt and son-in-law to Sherry Price who were found dead in the home they shared off of Hwy. 74. Preliminary autopsy results provided to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office today confirmed that the women were killed by a single gunshot wound to the head. Mr. Pruitt’s body is being transported to the GBI Crime Lab for autopsy. The investigation into these homicides continue but it will be weeks or months before other lab results are returned from the Crime Lab.
