Mr. Thomas Anthony “Tommy” Gasses, age 74, of Barnesville, passed away Saturday,April 7, 2012 in a Spalding County healthcare facility.Mr. Gasses was a native of Henry County but had made his home in Barnesville for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Mr. Jesse Gasses and the late Mrs. Mary Flaghan Gasses. Mr. Gasses and his wife Rose were the proud owners of Tommy’s clothing store in downtown Barnesville. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church at The Rock, Ga. He served as president of St. Anne’s Parish council and was a member of The Knights of Columbus and The Kiwanis Club where he served as president. He was a member of many local organizations.Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Rose Gasses of Barnesville; two daughters, Mrs. Rita (Mark) MeGee of Milner and Mrs. Gina Miller of Locust Grove, Ga.; two brothers, Raymond Gasses and Jesse Gasses, both of McDonough, Ga; three sisters, Mrs. Sara Hill, Mrs. Vickie Farah and Maxine Farah all of McDonough; two grandchildren, Theresa Smith and John Thompson both of Milner; and two great-grandchildren, Dylan Thomas and Kinley Grace Smith, both of Milner. A number of nieces and nephews and other relatives survive.Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Anthony Gasses will be conducted Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 1 p.m. in the St. Peter Catholic Church at The Rock, Ga. Interment will follow at the Greenwood cemetery in Barnesville, Ga.
