Three dead on Fredonia Church Rd.; bodies identified

Lamar County sheriff’s deputies are working two separate crime scenes on Fredonia Church Rd. where a total of three people are confirmed dead, according to Sheriff Brad White. The first body was found blocking a doorway at a home at 159 Fredonia Church Rd. According to Lamar County tax records the home is owned by Flossie Ogletree. Shortly thereafter, two more bodies were found at a home at 234 Fredonia Church Rd., about a half a mile away from the first scene. According to Lamar County tax records the home is owned by Charles Sutton. According to Sheriff White, the investigation is being turned over to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and at 3:32 p.m. three GBI crime scene investigators are en route to the area. More to follow….. UPDATE FROM SHERIFF BRAD WHITE: At 1:57 p.m. deputies were dispatched to 159 Fredonia Ch. Rd. regarding an unresponsive male blocking the doorway called in by a relative. Capt. Chris Webster responded and found Al Ogletree, 50, deceased. While investigators were working that scene at 2:36 p.m. we were called to 234 Fredonia Ch. Rd. where the wife came home and found her husband unresponsive in a bed. Responding deputies found the man, 88 year old Charles Sutton and the body of a second victim, 54 year old Frenchie Fambro. Both victims in the home suffered severe head trauma. “At this point we don’t think the public is in any danger. We are working this as a double homicide/suicide.”
