St. George’s Episcopal School’s four year old class had an extraordinary day Feb. 17. After morning chapel service, fathers and grandfathers gathered with their children to have ‘Donuts with Dad.’ The class had been studying the letter D and each student had written a story and drawn a picture about his or her dad. Student Wyatt Walters wrote about his father, Capt. Russ Walters, who is serving in Afghanistan with the 48th Brigade. Capt. Walters is Commander of the 148th HHC. He has been in Afghanistan since April 2009 but he and his wife Nicole and Wyatt have been able to keep in touch via the Internet program Skype, which allows real time pictures and communication.
