Be careful, it’s prom night. There are a lot of young drivers on the road. Fortunately this accident, which that took place at the intersection of Grove St. and Highway 341 late this afternoon, did not involve any of tonight’s prom revelers. A red Chevy S-10 or similar truck collided with a late model grey Ford compact sedan. The truck rolled 4 or 5 times according to eyewitnesses. The driver of the truck, identified as Michael Suggs of Barnesville, was transported to Macon Medical Center. His injuries were described as serious but not life threatening. He was responsive at the scene. The adult driver and 3 children in the car were uninjured although all front and side airbags appeared to have deployed. Another, less serious accident occurred just north of this one at the intersection of Highway 41 and the Hwy. 36 bypass at about the same time. Later an accident involving a patrol car occurred at the intersection of College Drive and Highway 341 South.
