Tragic tale from Monroe County involving local woman

The body of a Lamar County woman has been sent to the state crime lab after she died at a home on Hwy. 83 in Monroe County July 19. From Will Davis, publisher of the Monroe County Reporter: At about 11:57 p.m. on July 19, Dep. Charles King went to a Hwy. 83 South about a deceased person. When King arrived, Monroe County EMT Jason Lott verified the female victim, a Barnesville woman, was dead. A male friend of the victim said while the two were having sex, the victim started having trouble breathing. He said she eventually passed out and became unresponsive, so he called 9-1-1. The case was turned over to Inv. Allen Henderson, and the victim’s body was sent to the Georgia Crime Lab to determine the cause of death.
