Train hits car; no injuries

A Norfolk-Southern freight train hit a compact car Friday in downtown Barnesville. The incident occurred at about 4:30 p.m. at the railroad crossing at Sardis Street behind First Baptist Church. The train was moving slowly when it hit a silver Toyota Camry. The 88-year-old woman driving the Camry was shaken up but not injured. There were no passengers in the car.
