The Lamar County Trojans have finalized their schedule for the upcoming football season – the first under new head coach Franklin Stephens. Stephens, who has two state titles under his belt, faces high expectations for the fall. The Trojans open in just over three weeks with an August 17 scrimmage against Upson-Lee at Trojan Field. The season opener follows two week later on August 31 when Lamar plays just up the road at Memorial Stadium in Griffin against the Spalding Jaguars. The regular season home opener follows September 7 when Eagles Landing comes to Trojan Field. On September 14, the Battle of Potato Creek takes place here as Pike County comes in. Lamar is off on September 21 then rips off seven games in a row beginning September 28. Those games are at Taylor Co., N.E. Macon here, at Monticello, at Putnam County, Bleckley County here, at Macon County and Crawford County here.
