Trojan ‘Pink Out’ is today

Lamar County will play their final soccer home matches of the season tonight as they host Henry County at Trojans Field. The Lady Trojans and Lady War Hawks kick things off at 5:30 p.m. The boys game will be played at 7:30 p.m. Senior players will be recognized between matches. It is also “pink out” night as the Lady Trojans and Trojans will don pink jerseys for their matches. Anyone wearing a LC United for a Cure t-shirt will be admitted for half price and all proceeds from sales of the t-shirts as well as half of the gate admission will go towards Relay For Life. The Lady Trojans are 7-6-1 after seeing their three game winning streak go by the boards with a 2-1 loss to Howard here last night. The Trojans ran their consecutive win streak to three games and stand at 6-7-1 after outlasting the Huskies, 9-6, in their match. The Diamond Trojans face a big challenge at Aldora Field today as they host Callaway at 6 p.m. Lamar County trails the Cavaliers by a half game for second place in Region 5AA. The top two seeds from each region host first round state playoff games. Callaway beat Lamar 8-5 earlier this season in Lagrange. Local tennis fans may want to drop by the Trojan Athletic Complex on the middle school campus today and Thursday as Lamar County hosts the Region 5AA tennis tournament. Matches will go on all day today and Thursday. Gordon College will host South Georgia in a single baseball game this afternoon at two o’clock at the Highlander Athletic Complex.
