Trojan soccer teams near season’s end

Lamar County upped its season soccer record to 7-8-1 with a 7-0 win over Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy in McDonough Friday night. The Lady Trojans were blanked 11-0 in their match with the Lady Chargers and fall to 8-7-1. Both teams travel to Jackson for matches today before closing out the season at Locust Grove on Wednesday. The Diamond Trojans are on the road for three games this week beginning with a trip to Butler to take on Taylor County today in a JV/varsity doubleheader. Lamar beat the Vikings 11-2 when they visited Aldora Field a few weeks ago. The junior Trojans dropped their game with Taylor 8-6. The LCCHS girls track team is in Franklin today and tomorrow to compete in the Region 5AA girls track meet at Heard County High School. The Trojan golf team hosts Manchester today at Morgan Dairy Golf Club.
