Lamar County hosts Stone Mountain High this week for a pre-season scrimmage. The full game-like scrimmage will feature the varsity squads for three quarters with the junior varsity playing the fourth quarter. When and Where: Trojan Field, Friday at 7 p.m. Admission: $7 at the gate with no discounted advanced sales. Weather: Mostly cloudy with a 50% chance of thunderstorms and temperatures in the mid to low 70s throughout the game. Series: This will be the first meeting between the two schools. Last year: Stone Mountain was 3-7 in Region 6-AAAA with wins over North Atlanta, Redan and Therrell. The Pirates scored an average of 21.7 points per game while yielding 29.1. Pirate coach: Dante Ferguson begins his fifth season as head coach. He is 18-22 at Stone Mountain. Scouting report: The Pirates run the spread offense with lots of speed and great athleticism.
