Trojans fall in scrimmage

The Lamar County Trojans fell to the Manchester Blue Devils 30-7 in a scrimmage held Friday night at Trojan Field. It was a typical performance for a first live action session under a new coaching staff and LC had at least two touchdowns called back on penalties. First year head coach Travis Ellington said he and his staff went into the game with the mindset that it was a scrimmage and they wanted to get every player on film for evaluation. ’We had a few guys out but we got most of them on film. We played with good effort and the mistakes we made can be corrected. We saw several players step up and do some really good stuff. We ran all base plays and all base defense. We are excited about this team and where they can go,’ Ellington said.
