The Lamar County Trojans will host Early County, the #3 seed from Region 1-AA, in round one at Aldora Field. Playoff action begins Friday with a doubleheader. Game one is set for 4:30 p.m. with game two to follow 30 minutes after the completion of game one.
Game three, if needed, will be played here Saturday at 1 p.m.
Last week, LC trounced NE Macon twice. On Tuesday, LC plated 15 runs in the first inning en route to a 18-0 win. The game was over after three innings by mercy rule. Cam King no hit the Raiders, striking out seven to get the win.
Ayden Hollis had two hits and three rbis to pace LC. Brayden Pines added four rbis. Rhett Blount had three hits. Donavan Sanford had two hits while King helped his own cause with three rbis.
On Friday, the Trojans spanked the Raiders again on Senior Night at Aldora Field. This time it was 17-2.
In an emotional moment, senior pitcher Tanner Patterson started the game. Patterson has been out of action for a long period due to seizures and other difficulties arising from a bout with COVID. Jackson Grogan struck out six batters.
Pines had three hits and three rbis to pace LC. Talon Dender had two hits and two rbis. Blount had two hits and Nathaniel Tidwell drove in two runs.
