Late stand preserves 21-20 win for LC

The #8 Lamar County Trojans outlasted the Upson-Lee Knights 21-20 Friday night in a thriller at Thomaston’s Matthews Field.

U-L scored with just over four seconds left and, to their credit, went for two and the win. CJ Allen and Jordan Glover stuffed the attempt to preserve the win for LC.

U-L ran a hybrid Notre Dame box/single wing offense that gave them complete control of time of possession after LC’s first 14-play drive. Lamar held the ball for only 1:16 in the third period.

4:46 1st: LC 7 UL 0: Ty Head one yard TD run. Josh Moore PAT.
