Trojans lose 18-17; Santae World named Homecoming Queen

The Lamar County Trojans lost a heartbreaker to the Heard County Braves 18-17 tonight at Trojan Field. The loss heavily damaged hopes of hosting a first round playoff game at Trojan Field. In homecoming festivities at halftime, Santae World was named homecoming queen for 2009. Lamar is now 4-2 in region play and must travel to Pike County next week. Pike lost 32-28 to Jordan tonight and fell out of the playoff race. Callaway killed Crawford Thursday and is 6-0 in region play and won’t lose again. Manchester beat Macon County 34-20 tonight and is now 5-1 in the region. Heard is now tied with Lamar at 4-2 but still has powerhouse Callaway on their dance card. Lamar must beat Pike next week and knock off bitter rival Manchester here in the season finale to host a playoff game.
