Trojans lose opener 28-19

The #4 ranked Lamar County Trojans took it on the chin Friday night in Macon. LC’s speedy offense, accustomed to turf, went 37 plus minutes of the game without a score on a very muddy field at Ed Defore Stadium before Juan Tucker scored with 2:43 left. The PAT failed, sealing the Trojans fate. Offensive line play was inconsistent for the Trojans who never really got any push up front. Cutting in the mud was a challenge and there was a noticeable lack of continuity which could be attributed to missing many starters during two preseason scrimmages. LC also struggled in the kicking game, missing two of three PATs and its only field goal attempt. LC 7 Howard 0: LJ Smith 1-yard TD run. Dawson Davis PAT. 4:37 1st. qtr.: LC 13-0: Juan Tucker 5-yd.
