Benedictine, twice eliminated from postseason play by field goals off the foot of former Trojan Tyler Scandrett, defeated GAC 45-21 Saturday to win the GHSA Class AA football title ‘“ the first in school history. GAC ousted the Trojans in the second round of the playoffs. The Trojans, in their first year under head coach Jamie Abrams, finished ninth in the final AJC poll. The top 10 consisted of Benedictine, GAC, Vidalia, Fitzgerald, Lovett, Brooks County, Macon County, Thomasville, Lamar County and Rabun County.
