The Lamar County Trojans have 11 of their last 12 games heading into playoff action this weekend.The Diamond Trojans disposed of the Eagles Landing Golden Eagles Thursday by a score of 5-1.Senior pitcher Blane Parker got the win, going seven innings. He gave up two hits with six strikeouts and only one walk.Second baseman Eric Cooper had a great day defensively in backing up Parker.Top Trojan hitters were Michael Sneed (3-4), Calvin Adams (2-4), Marc English (1-3), Keaton Brown (1-3) and Trent Nix (1-4).The Trojans tuned up their bats Friday in their final regular season game as they blasted hapless Spencer High of Columbus 23-0.Lamar will play at Blessed Trinity in the first round of the playoffs on May 8. The Titans are the number two seed from Region 6AA.The Trojans and Titans will square off in a doubleheader Friday. Game one is set for 5 p.m. First pitch for game two is 7:30 p.m.If necessary, a third, decisive game would be played Saturday at a time to be determined.To get to Blessed Trinity, take I-85 North to Georgia 400 North. Take exit 7B off 400 onto Holcomb Bridge Road. Holcomb Bridge changes to Crossville Road. Take Crossville to Woodstock Road and turn left onto Woodstock.
