Green The high school baseball team took advantage of the unseasonably spring-like weather last week as pitchers and catchers began preparing for the upcoming season. The Diamond Trojans began conditioning drills in November and December using the SPARQ (speed, agility, reaction, quickness) program. Backed by Nike, SPARQ is a cross training program that aids the athlete in increasing speed, strength and conditioning. The team can officially start team practice Jan. 30. Lamar will play Mary Persons in a pre-season game in Forsyth Feb. 17 before opening the regular season Feb. 21 in Milledgeville against Georgia Military.
