Trojans’ season ends after disastrous second half

The Lamar County Trojans were outscored 34-0 in the second half and lost 48-20 Friday to the GAC Spartans. They finish 8-3-1.Coach Jamie Abrams’ Trojans hung tough in the first half and actually led at intermission against the top ranked team in Class AA. They fell behind in the second half, however, and, when forced to pass to stay alive, threw what seemed to be more interceptions than completions.The Trojan showing in the first half was strong enough that Spartan head coach Tim Hardy felt it necessary to leave his starters in in order to tack on one last touchdown with under a minute left and the game long since decided.
