Tyler Scandrett’s PAT was true to make it 7-0.MCA answered in the second quarter with a 60-yard TD run by Ben Rogers. Kolt Weaver’s PAT knotted the score at 7-7.Lamar’s Quay Searcy returned the ensuing kickoff 80 yards for a TD and Scandrett added the PAT to make it 14-7.Just under a minute later, MCA quarterback Kion Button went 65 yards for a score. Weaver’s PAT tied the game at 14-14 at the half.After a scoreless third period, MCA tackled Bloodser in the endzone for a safety to make it 16-14. The safety staggered the Trojans moments after a heroic stand by the Lamar defense inside their own 1.MCA put the game on ice when Jojo Wynn scored on a 10-yard run. The PAT failed.The second consecutive first round playoff loss was particularly painful for the Lamar seniors, many of whom left the field in tears.Attendance at Trojan Field was disappointing with the home stands nowhere near full.
