Coach Jason Strickland has announced his Lamar County Trojans will host their annual Soap Game scrimmage Aug. 7 at the new Trojan Field.Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.Fans are asked to bring laundry detergent and recordable DVDs to help with the team’s laundry and film budgets.The following Friday, Aug. 14, Lamar will host Rutland for a scrimmage. Regular season action kicks off Aug. 28 when Spalding High visits Trojan Field for the first official contest at the new facility.This Thursday, July 30, parents are invited to the high school practice field at 6 p.m. to eat with the coaches and players.”This will be a meet and greet time and we’ll be serving food and refreshments. It’s an opportunity for us to answer any questions parents may have about the beginning of the season. We look forward to seeing as many parents as possible,” the coach said.Strickland also reported the recent Youth Football Camp he hosted with his staff was well received.”The camp was a tremendous success. We want to thank Varsity Sports Center, Jazz Printing and Chic-fil-A for their help with the camp,” Strickland concluded.
