The Lamar County Trojans christen their new field tonight when they host the Spalding Jaguars. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. Heavy rains in the area this morning are expected to abate by kickoff. Advance tickets are on sale for $5 through 1 p.m. today. Advance tickets are $5 and available at all local schools, the school system office and at Main St. Medical Supplies. Tickets at the gate are $7. According to intellicast.com, rain will begin to taper off before noon. There is only a 30% chance of an isolated shower at kickoff time. The kickoff temperature is forecast to be 77 degrees. Unlike its predecessor, Trojan Field drains exceptionally well. The Field Turf will be in excellent shape for the game. Trojan fans are asked to wear blue for the Blueout observance tonight.
