The Lamar County Trojans beat the Pierce County Bears at home in the first round of the GHSA Class AA state basketball tournament Saturday night. Lamar County led 14-8 after the first quarter. Lamar County up 39-24 at the half. Final score: 79-44. The Trojans advance to the second round which will be played at the LCCHS gym Wednesday.
