Lamar County schools will host the youth football camp, ‘Building the Foundation for the Future’ June 28-July 1 at the high school practice field. The camp is for boys and girls entering grades 3-8 in the 2010-11 school year.After stretch exercises, campers will be tested on the 40-yard dash, 20-yard shuttle and standing long jump, followed by a water break. Sessions on offense and defense also will be punctuated by water breaks. There will also be kick and punt contests.On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday games will pit campers against each other in lieu of defense lessons.Parents are invited to attend lunch on Thursday and enjoy the awards ceremony.The cost, including a camp T-shirt, is $35 cash or check made payable to the Trojans Gridiron Club.
