The Lamar County Trojans defeated Fitzgerald 2-1 Tuesday night in round two of the GHSA Class AA state soccer playoffs. The first half ended in a 0-0 tie but Fitzgerald took a 1-0 lead in the second half. Tyler Scandrett, a young man accustomed to heroics, scored two goals in the last 10 minutes to power the Trojans to victory. The Trojans will play either Bremen or Wesleyan Friday – time and place to be decided.
