Komen Breast Cancer 3-Day in 2009. ‘Our goal is 200 runners,’ said organizer Kathy Oxford. ‘We’ve added State Farm as a sponsor. They join United Bank in helping us offset some of the costs.’ Oxford encourages Thomaston and Greenwood street residents to put up outside Christmas lights a little early so runners will have added holiday spirit along the route. They are also asked to come out and cheer on the runners.’Inflatables are the easiest things to put out and we’d love to see the streets along the route lit up with holiday spirit,’ she said. Lance played baseball for the high school as number 14 and the Triple B’s will ask a youth runner to run for someone in their honor or in honor/memory of a loved one. ‘Either way, come out and support all the runners with your flashing lights and holiday spirit,’ she said, There will be prizes for overall winners, both male and female in first through third places in addition to age category winners including first and second male and female. Entry fees for the 5K run or walk are $25 for pre-registered runners and $25 to sponsor a runner. The cost is $35 the night of the race.
