Sheriff Brad White has suspended two deputies as a result of an internal investigation into the bogus note left on an office desk that encouraged deputies to write more tickets. Deputy Michael Martin, who wrote the note as a prank, has been suspended for three days. Sgt. Jeannie Devane has also been suspended for three days for failure to follow the chain of command. An investigation into who distributed the photo via e-mail to the media with assertions that such a quota violated state law is ongoing. That e-mail was sent to The Herald Gazette and at least one television station from a blind e-mail address. The Herald Gazette has turned over its e-mail to LCSO investigators to be traced.
