At least two of the three Barnesville city councilmen up for reelection in November will face challengers who qualified Monday. UPDATE: Incumbent Barnesville councilman Chris Hightower qualified late Monday. On Tuesday, Tracey Smallwood qualified threw her hat into the ring for a Milner city council seat. Former multi-term councilman Larry B. Whitworth qualified to face incumbent Robert Neal Devane in the Ward 4 race. Devane also qualified. Additionally, BBQ & Blues festival chairman T.J. Imberger qualified to do battle with incumbent Mark Stone in the Ward 5 race. Stone also qualified. Ward 2 incumbent Chris Hightower is expected to seek reelection but did not qualify Monday. In Milner, longtime mayor Joe Bostwick qualified for reelection as did councilman George Weldon.
