Two jailed for bombs, drugs, weapons

Two men are in custody in the Lamar County jail following their arrest for possession of destructive devices and a felony amount of marijuana. They also face firearms charges. Seth Bennon Roberts, 24, and Wesley Robert Peters, 22, both white males, of 170 Lamar County Line Road, Griffin, were arrested May 15 after Lamar County deputies, officers of the Department of Natural Resources and the GBI bomb squad reportedly found them in possession of multiple firearms and two explosive devices marked Tacks O’Hoy and Nails O’Hoy. The alleged marijuana, along with the makings for more pipe bombs, were also located inside the residence. As reported here early Tuesday, the search warrant was initiated after a tip from DNR Ranger First Class Keith Page. Peters had recently been arrested for DUI alcohol and weaving over the roadway while Roberts reportedly had pending charges of obstruction of an officer from a May 8 incident. Maj. Brad White of the sheriff’s office said the investigation is ongoing at this time.
