Two Monroe County deputies have been shot during an altercation. One deputy was reportedly shot in the head.Both are reportedly critical. The incident occurred off Haley Lane near Pate Road.UPDATE: One deputy has died…UPDATE:Two Monroe County deputies were shot in the line of duty today, Sept. 13, 2014, while responding to a call on Haley Lane in Bolingbroke. Deputy Jeff Wilson and Deputy Michael Norris were dispatched at 5:45 p.m. to 111 Haley Lane in response to a man attempting suicide. The deputies were told that the subject was in possession of a gun. When Deputies Norris and Wilson arrived on scene they exchanged gunfire with the suspect. Both deputies were shot by the suspect and transported to the Medical Center of Central Georgia for treatment. The suspect’s name is not being released at this time but he was taken into custody. The extent of the injuries the deputies received is not being released.
