Undefeated 10U All-Stars headed to World Series in Baton Rouge

The 10U All-Stars from the Lamar recreation department ripped off three straight victories over the weekend to win the USSA state championship. They are now headed to the World Series which will be played July 9-14 in Baton Rouge, La.

The team is undefeated through three rounds of postseason play.

LC had a first round bye in the weekend’s state finals in Griffin then beat Newton County 11-4 in round two. In Sunday’s round three they topped Bloomfield 8-5. They drew Bloomfiled again in the title game and prevailed 9-8 in a tough battle in horrendous heat.

Kason Samples (above) started the round two game and was stellar.

Stars headed to the World Series are Cohen Epperson, Nathan Griffis, Blake Matthews, Samples, Colby Guthrie, Layton Selph, DJ Harpe, Trevor Smallwood, Dailan Evans, Jax Sloan, and Cam Stevens. The team is coached by Bubba Samples, Terrell Selph, Jeff Sloan and Josh Griffis.
