Some must just convey news; some of it sad news. This is one of those. Our beloved younger son and brother, Alex, died a week ago today in an early-morning motorcycle accident here in Georgia. His body was not found, however, until yesterday. We are assured that he died instantly. As you can imagine, we and his friends went through several days of agony and speculation. This is not the time for me to write a long and difficult note, and as it is for general dissemination for informational purposes, I cannot personalize it. I therefore know that it may come as a terrible shock to those of you who really knew and loved Alex but have been unaware of the events and the waiting of this last week. Others of you may not have known Alex but are among our or his friends and needed to be informed about this loss.We have not settled on any plans for a service, but are thinking in terms of Sunday afternoon , October___ at our old Pike County Church, Friendship Presbyterian.I do want to end this message without adding that we feel a great deal of gratitude for all the help and support we have had from his and our friends and local law enforcement during the past several days. We are thinking of y’all and him fondly as we send this out.Walker
